It was brought to my attention by friends on twitter and then an anon screencap in my ask … that a quick search on twitter for ‘john lee’ would fill me with rage, and it did.

He was rumoured to be at the concert today. There was a photo of the back of someones head, supposedly John Lee, and then twitter was suddenly awash with childish and pathetic comments like the ones above. (the second column were all written by the same person)

There were far worse comments and there were more subtle ones, but I had to stop scrolling because my heart was pounding, I was so fucking angry and embarrassed for these people. These were just some of the comments at the top.

Jokes or not, calling somebody a paedophile repeatedly is NOT funny. Making a joke where you actually have the audacity to say ‘Not enough bullets,’ is NOT funny.

I’m actually speechless to think Top having a reliable and supportive friend, who gives enough of a shit about him to go to consecutive concerts to support him somehow threatens you? Or threatens the imaginary ‘dick in the ass’ OTP you have?

You’re idiots. Some of the comments I saw were so unbelievably disgusting (comments retweeted by multiple people) that for the moment, I’m ashamed to share the same fandom with you.

If anyone following me happens to have written one of these comments (or one similar), you need to unfollow me, because you’re a childish piece of shit.

ETA: The saga continued and does still. There’s an alarming number of people who when called out on homophobic comments, didn’t seem to appreciate that saying ‘Ew, but he’s gay’ (john) is a homophobic statement. ‘But I ship kpop bois together,’ does not mean you’re not a homophobic piece of shit. That means you’re selective. That means you’re okay with homosexuality as long as you happen to like the people involved.
